HRLocker allows offices to implement a Dual Manager Approval process for leave types, ensuring an additional layer of oversight. This feature is set at the office level and applies to all employees within that office. Here’s how to configure and manage Dual Manager Approval.
Steps to Set Up Dual Manager Approval
Access Office Settings

Log in to HRLocker:
- Log in to your HRLocker account.

Navigate to Office Settings:
- Select Office Settings from the main menu.
- Choose the relevant office Time Off settings.
Configure Dual Manager Approval

Time Off Settings:
- Scroll down to the Time Off section.

Require Dual Approval:
- Find the option Require dual approval for time off requests.
- Select the manager you would like to designate as the 2nd Approver for that office from the dropdown list.
Important Notes
- Permissions Requirement:
- Ensure the selected 2nd Approver has Time Off permissions for this office.
Approval Process for Leave Requests
- Employee Leave Application:
- When an employee in this office applies for leave, the request will need approval from both their manager and the 2nd Approver.
- Approval Status:
- If only one of these managers approves the leave, the leave request will remain in submitted status.
- Admin/Time Off Manager Applications:
- If an Admin or Time Off Manager applies for leave on behalf of an employee, the request must still receive approval from the 2nd Approver.
Managing Changes to 2nd Approver
- Terminating Employment:
- Before terminating the employment of a 2nd Approver, a new 2nd Approver must be assigned to ensure continuity in the approval process.
