Annual leave carry over
Carry Over Policy - Setup and Management
HRLocker allows administrators to manage whether unused annual leave days can be carried over to the following leave year.
This ensures that employees retain accrued time off according to the organisation’s policy.
Setting Up Carry Over
Access Time Off Settings
-
Log in as an Administrator or manager with settings permissions.
-
From the navigation bar, select Settings.
-
Select Offices.
-
Choose the Time Off Settings for the relevant office.
-
Scroll down to the Annual Leave Policy section.
Configure Carry Over
-
Tick the box labelled "Do Holidays Carry Over".
-
Enter the maximum number of days that employees will be able to carry over into the next year.
-
If you wish for employees to carry over an unlimited amount of leave, leave the field blank.
-
Click Save to apply the setting.
Negative Balances
If an employee exceeds their allowance (for example, entitlement 20 days, taken 21), the system will carry -1 day into the next leave year if carry over is enabled.
Changing the Carry Over Policy
If you need to change the number of carried over days for an office, enter a new value in the maximum days field and click Save.
A confirmation popup will appear:
Selecting Yes will adjust the carry over for the current year.
Selecting No will only affect future leave years.
Once the carry over policy has been configured, HRLocker will automatically apply the correct carry over rules for each employee based on the office settings.
Any changes made will be reflected in employee time off graph and balance.
