How to change role from Manager to Employee and additional steps to successfully do a role change
Must Do Before Steps
Before going through the steps, you will need to look for any employees that are reporting to the manager you are changing to an employee. If there are employees reporting to the manager, you will be prompted with an error message and the role change will not go through.
- Under the Employee section in reports, you can view the list of Managers' Subordinates, filtered by employee or manager.
- You can also download the Directory Export and search for the manager's name in columns M-Q to see who is reporting to them.
To reassign the subordinates, you will need to go to employee's directory and change who they report to.
Steps to Change the Role from Manager to Employee
- Navigate to the Directory and select the Manager you would like to change to an employee
- On the Summary Page, update the “This User is” to “A Regular Employee”.
- Click Submit on the bottom-right side of the page to update the change.
