Steps to Create a New Sick Leave Type

  • Navigate to Office Settings:

    • Go to the Office settings 
    • Select Time Off settings for the office to view and manage various leave options.

  • Add a New Sick Leave Type:

    • Scroll down to Time Off Request and Rostering Types.
    • Click on the Add New button to create a new type of leave.
  • Fill Out the Form:

    • You will see a form titled Edit Time Off Request/Sick Leave Type. Here, you can configure the specifics of the new leave type.
    • Designate as Sick Leave: Check the option to designate this leave type as Sick Leave.
    • Name Your Sick Leave Type: Enter a unique name that identifies this type of sick leave (e.g., "Statutory Paid Sick Leave", "Company Paid Sick Leave").
  • Privacy Settings:

    • Sick Leave is Always Private: By default, sick leave is treated as private leave to protect employee confidentiality.
  • Optional Timesheet Settings:

    • Exclude Sick Leave from Timesheet: If you do not want the sick leave hours to populate on the employee’s timesheet, select the option to exclude these hours.
  • Assign Permission Levels:

    • Determine who can assign this sick leave type:
      • Admins Only: Restricts assignment to administrative staff.
      • Managers and Admins: Allows both time off managers and admins to assign this leave type.
    • Default Sick Leave: The default sick leave is automatically available to all employees. Additional sick leave types must be assigned by the designated roles and cannot be self-assigned by employees.

  • Payroll Integration:

    • If you have payroll integration enabled, there is an option to link this sick leave type to a specific Payment ID. This ensures accurate reporting in payroll processes.
  • Save Your Settings:

    • Once you’ve filled out the form, save your new sick leave type. It will now appear in the Sick Leave Types table.

Managing Existing Sick Leave Types

  • All created sick leave types are listed in the Sick Leave Types table.
  • You can edit any existing leave type by selecting it from the list. Adjust the settings as needed and save your changes.
