HRLocker provides different types of timesheets to accommodate various working styles and organizational needs. Understanding these types and the permissions associated with editing timesheets is crucial for accurate time tracking and management.

Types of Timesheets

  1. Prepopulated Timesheet:

    • This basic timesheet comes with prepopulated hours.
    • Employees do not clock in and out.
  2. Unpopulated Timesheet:

    • This is a variation of the basic timesheet but without prepopulated hours.
    • Employees manually enter their start time, end time, and break duration.
  3. Clock-in Timesheet:

    • This timesheet starts blank until an employee clocks in.
    • Employees clock in when they start working, take breaks, or clock out.
    • Multiple clock-ins and clock-outs can be recorded throughout the day.

Editing Timesheets

Employees:

  • Prepopulated Timesheet:

    • Employees can edit their start time, end time, and break duration.
  • Unpopulated Timesheet:

    • Employees can manually enter and edit their start time, end time, and break duration.
  • Clock-in Timesheet:

    • Employees cannot edit this type of timesheet.

Admins:

  • Can edit both prepopulated/basic timesheets, unpopulated timesheets, and clock-in timesheets for employees.

Managers:

  • Managers Who Approve Timesheets:

    • Can edit the timesheets they approve.
  • Managers with Time On Permission:

    • Can edit the timesheets of the employees they have permission for.
  • Direct Managers:

    • Can edit the timesheets of their direct reports, even without specific time on permissions.

Restrictions:
Admins and managers cannot edit their own clock-in timesheets, even if they are their own time on approver.
